01 coronavirus-the Wuhan Institute of Virology

the Wuhan Institute of Virology is a research institute that studies dangerous viruses. Its the first biosafety level 4(BSL-4) laboratory in Asia.

This is the reason that it has the highest level of biosafety precautions and is appropriate for work with viruses that could easily be transmitted within the laboratory and cause severe to fatal disease to humans for which there are no available vaccines or treatments.

These are the exact same laboratories where they wear fancy suits that completely cover them like astronauts, the ones that you see in movies.

In order to exit or wipe out the BSL-4 laboratory, personnel must pass through a chemical shower for decontamination, then a room for removing the positive-pressure suit, followed by a personal shower.

But since its inception, some have criticized the lab for not strictly following all the protocols. What makes it even more interesting is that it’s located just a few miles from the wet market where the COVID-19 originated according to Chinese officials.

Since 2020, many theories have emerged, claiming that the virus has accidentally leaked from the Wuhan lab, especially since one of the first infected people was a former employee of that institute.

Of course, the Chinese government would never admit that and claims that nothing was leaked from the lab, but nonetheless, that remains a possibility.

For many decades China has been the factory of the world that has been producing pretty much everything, but recently you’ve been seeing the headlines that more and more companies are looking to move their manufacturing sites to other places like India for various reasons.

China makes business much easier because everything you need is located in one place. What makes it even more attractive is that you can find cheap labor at the same place.

With a population of 1.4 billion people, you can easily find a good number of people who would get your job done for pennies. For over four decades, China has been growing at an enormous speed, and it seems that growth would be forever.

But history tells us, whatever rises will definitely fall. China lifted out of poverty hundreds of millions of people and created the largest middle class in the world.

That is, of course, great both for china and humanity overall, but at some point, the economy peaks, where producing more will drive everything down. Because there isn’t simply a demand for it. You probably have seen pictures of Chinese ghost towns, which is a perfect example of that.

The Chinese economy was heading to a recession anyway.  It was just a matter of time, but if it happened accidentally due to a virus, the Chinese communist party could shift the blame to mother nature. It sounds like a perfect conspiracy theory.

It’s not the first virus that started in China, in 2002, SARS, which is also from the family of coronaviruses that broke up.  Thankfully it wasn’t as critical as COVID-19.

The plague of Justinian that killed almost half of the population also originated in China, according to many historians. Or the third plague that broke in China in 1855 and killed over 12 million people.

That has led many people to think that all viruses come out of China since consuming wild animals in China is normal. However, that is not entirely true. The Spanish flu that killed 50 up to 100 million people started in Kansas, United States.

HIV and AIDS began in Africa. Swine influenza started in Mexico, and so on. So blaming Chinese for spreading viruses all the time isn’t fair.

We haven’t seen such an outbreak in over a hundred years, and since the world is globalized like never before. It’s extremely easy for a virus to break to every corner in the world. Not a single country would want to be associated with such a pandemic, especially when it has superpower ambitions.

When you want to be seen as the country that leads the world, you want the world to think that you are at least taking good care of your own country. That’s why since the beginning of the outbreak, china tried to control the narrative of the story, as the outbreak hasn’t started in china.

Of course, facts cannot be changed, it began in Wuhan for one reason or another. But here is what you can do. Feed the internet and the media with so much fake news that it will get difficult to find the truth.

When you Google the origins of COVID-19 the first link says, it started it Wuhan. The second link says it might not have started in Wuhan. The third link might say, it might have started outside china. That will get a lot of people confused.

In 2012, a virus (MERS) was transmitted from a camel to a human. It caused fever, cough, diarrhea, and shortness of breath. Unfortunately, the virus was contagious, it moved from one person to another, first infecting dozens of people, and then thousands.

What made it even more dangerous than it had a mortality rate of 35 percent, which means 35 people out of 100 people infected died. In comparison, COVID-19 has a mortality rate of 2.4 percent.

Viruses are just part of life. They evolve, mutate, and change when they are copied during reproduction. Sometimes, in extremely rare circumstances, mutation, by pure accident, will allow the virus to attach to a new host, which can be a human.

And if the virus interacts with that host, infection is unavoidable. But even them, viruses mostly do not survive because it not good to infect the new host but if the virus overcomes all the obstacles and sticks around and reproduces for a long enough.

Natural selection will help it to reproduce and spread faster in a new host, which results in a pandemic like we are witnessing today. Coronavirus has been with us for some time already.

First, they were discovered in the 1930s in domestic chickens. It was described in 1931 as a new respiratory infection of chickens with a mortality rate of 30-40% among the chickens.

Unfortunately, they survived long enough to cause a global pandemic.
